The Swedish College of Engineering and Technology, Rahim Yar Khan is the first
engineering college in the South most region of Punjab in private sector. The
college is established by Al-Asar Gujranwala Education Society, which is a
registered trust, formed for the promotion of technical education in the
country. This trust is running eleven technical colleges in Punjab science last
14 years, thus catering for the needs of skilled manpower for the growing
industry of the country. After gaining 14 years experience in various fields of
technology, the Al-Asar trust has established the first engineering college in
Rahim Yar Khan with a view to serve the local population of Southern Punjab and
adjoining areas of Sindh.
As there is no other engineering institute in the vicinity of the area, the
establishment of Swedish College of Engineering and Technology at Rahim Yar Khan
is a blessing for people in general and aspiring young engineering candidates in
particular and provide them an apportunity to seek education in their chosen
field.
Presenty, the college is offering undergraduate programs leading to the degrees
of B.Sc Engineering in the field of Electrical (Power / Electronics) Engineering
and Machanical Engineering. Programs and degee of B. Tech (Pass) in the fields
of Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics Technologies are also offered.
The B.Sc Engineering program in the discipline of Electrical Engineering is
affiliated with the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and is approved by Pakistan
Engineering Council; whereas the B.Sc engineering program in the discipline of
Mechanical Engineering is affiliated with university of Engineering Technology,
Lahore and its accrediation by the Pakistan Engineering Council is under
process.
