Introduction to Information Technology

The fields of information technology and computer science are ripe with career opportunities. Professionals in this field are able to be part of the ever-evolving technology sector; changing the way the world works and communicates every day. Whether programming, troubleshooting or physically repairing computers and electronic devices, Computer Science is rapidly becoming a household-demanded service and a business standard for successful corporations and advancement as well as a booming independent industry. Information technology employs technology and computer utilities to accurately and effectively disseminate information instantaneously.

 

The term information technology or IT is used to refer to an entire industry. Information technology is the use of computers and software to manage information. In some companies, this is referred to as Management Information Services (or MIS) or simply as Information Services (or IS). The information technology department of a large company would be responsible for storing information, protecting information, processing the information, transmitting the information as necessary, and later retrieving information as necessary.

 

There is no doubt that IT is one of the biggest industry in the world so to full fill the needs of this industry this technology provides the skilled worker to industry. The scheme of studied includes PC applications, Network management, PC management, Installation of the application in the computer systems. The Hardware section is equipped with variable power supply, oscilloscope, multi meter, function generator wire clipper. Students can make the practical implementation and get good experience under the kind control of supervisors.
Career Outocmes

Since computers and networks have been two of the leading technologies driving engineering job markets, qualified with competencies in software development and a sound knowledge of hardware and engineering processes will continue to be highly sought. Qualified of the program have a good balance in the design and development of hardware and software, computer troubleshooting/repair skills, and network installation/management skills. They are well suited for positions that are highly paid and in high demand, such as system administrators, network administrators, system designers, quality control engineers, and software developers. Other career opportunities include as information technologist, lab technicians, system maintenance, system testers, and help desk operators.
